We, the family of J. Richard “Ricky” DeHerrera, would like to express our sincere thanks to all the people for their prayers, cards, food, phone calls, visits, and overall love. We appreciate all you have done for us in our time of need. We would like to thank all of his doctors who helped him in his long fight with diabetes.
Also, we would like to thank Mora Independent Schools for the use of the Joseph Montoya Gymnasium for the touching memorial service and the use of the school cafeteria for the wonderful meal, cooked by Margaret Vigil. The guest speakers — former Gov. David Cargo, State Rep. Thomas Garcia, Colonel Andrew Salas — for going out of their way to honor Ricky’s memory. Also, to our primo, Cyrus B. Martinez, Esq., for his incredible eulogy. The words cannot express our sincere gratitude.
We would like to thank the Mora community, family and friends for the support you have given us. A big thank you to all the pallbearers (active and honorary), whom Ricky admired and respected. Thanks you to the musicians, Angelo Archuleta, Felix Archuleta Jr. and Leroy Blea. for the beautiful music. To Roger Gonzales, thanks for all your help with the program.
Special thanks to the American Legion members, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled American Veterans for the Military Honor’s service and Mrs. Margaret Vigil for the wonderful meal honoring the life and spirit of Mr. J Richard “Ricky” DeHerrera. From the gentlemen setting up the gymnasium to the servers of the meal, we greatly appreciate your commitment and dedication. To Rev. John Snider, thank you dearly for the memorable service. Gracias to Mr. Alfred Nelson’s funeral home for the use of the chapel for the family viewing and the service.
To the Las Vegas Optic for the giving Ricky the opportunity to use his talents to enjoy his communicating skills with his passion and love, the Mora Valley.
Ricky was a strong, motivated and dedicated man and a big part of our lives and will deeply be missed. We were blessed to have had such a wonderful “Man For All Seasons” be a part of your lives too. He meant the world to us and is resting in a better place.
God Bless you all!
