LETTER: ‘Innocent until proven guilty’

-A A +A

In an interview with Rick Casados, the man who received so much publicity when a law enforcement officer stopped him on his four-wheeler and charged him with DWI, he stated that first of all, he did not have eight DWIs as the media reported. He also feels his rights were violated since the media convicted him before he had a chance to a preliminary hearing.

We all know that the law reads, “Everyone is presumed innocent, until proven guilty in a court of law.” He also feels like he was singled out because he was on a four-wheeler. I, myself, had never heard of anyone arrested on a four-wheeler. People get DWIs every day and don’t receive so much publicity.

I feel the media should retract their statement about the eight DWIs.
