Letter: Leather jackets, revolving doors

-A A +A

As a Mora County citizen, I find the articles in the Optic about the Mora County school superintendent scenario this past six months fascinating.

We are told Dora Romero, former superintendent, was relieved of her superintendent position because of the “slush fund” purchases to which she agreed for leather jackets, steak dinners, et al.

Then, in the May 12 Optic, we read that one of the recipients of those leather jackets, and steak dinners, New Mexico State Rep. Thomas Garcia, is being interviewed for the Mora County superintendent position.

Is there not something amiss in this picture?
