Letter didn’t tell whole story

Mr. (Frank) Splendoria’s letter (published June 29) extolling the statistically benign nature of oil and gas development cited the New York Times as his authority. Mr. Splendoria failed to disclose that the newspaper’s quoted source was Rex W. Tillerson, Chief Executive of Exxon Mobil.
