Letter: Counting chickens before hatched

-A A +A
By Rosalie Regensberg

A few people knew I had written a rebuttal to Kathleen Dudley’s letter, and they were wondering why it wasn’t ever published. I said, they own the newspaper so they have the right to print or not print. I am never offensive in my letters, I always speak the truth, which I can back up with documentation. Someone mentioned that maybe the Optic was prejudiced, and I said I have never known them to be.

Anyhow, what I said was that Dudley was counting her chickens before they are hatched because we all know that making predictions about elections sometimes work and other times don’t. I also mentioned the originator of the comprehensive land use plan and they have something against that. I also said that Republicans are good people (a fact known to be true). The Democratic Party, which has been in my family for generations, is good because it has always pulled for the underdog. But the Republicans push more toward “self-sufficiency”  — the Bible even tells you that the creator will help you, but you also have to help yourself.

I’ve been asked to keep on writing and especially to do a repeat from last year on “St. James,” but I don’t know if they’ll continue to print my letters, since only 104 people still believe in my talents.
