Letter: Business manager shouldn't get more

-A A +A
By The Staff

This letter is in response to the May 24 story regarding the West Las Vegas budget and the business manager. Boy, she sure has nerve demanding a 28 percent increase in salary. ...

Why should the whole West Las Vegas staff have to settle for a zero percent increase — people who, incidently, have been with the schools for years — while she sits back and enjoys a $20,000 pay increase? Just who does she think she is?

Let’s get this straight: Zero percent for other administrators, principals, teachers, teacher aides, bookkeepers, secretaries, maintenance staff, custodians and cooks, and a 28-percent increase to Dawn Biagianti.

What is wrong with this picture? She chose to resign from her $85,000 job and come here. I don’t think anyone twisted her arm. She could have very well stayed where she was ...

It is my belief that if the rest of the staff can make-do with what they are being paid now, she certainly can. Yes, being a business manager is a lot of work, but so is being an administrator, principal, teacher, etc.

Why should she be treated special? She is no better than the rest of the staff, and should not be treated as such.
