A touch of irony surfaced during a recent meeting of the Las Vegas City Council, when City Attorney Dave Romero presented a report on run-down properties and other eyesores in the community. The city has ordinances to ensure that people enjoy health, safety and well-being. That includes being free from visual pollution.
It was during Romero’s report on the abatement process that Councilor Tonita Gurule-Giron brought up three homes on Douglas Avenue and said, “With regard to abatement, one of the homes is ready to fall. Do you know who those homes belong to?”
