Lawsuit alleges civil rights violations

The ongoing dispute between a state police officer and the mother of his two children is now the subject of a federal lawsuit.

Rebecca Montoya filed a lawsuit earlier this year against Tom Lucero and state police. The lawsuit alleges that Montoya suffered a broken right wrist and other injuries when Lucero tried to arrest her outside the Las Vegas police station on Sept. 29, 2010. Montoya was nine months pregnant at the time and the suit alleges that Lucero attacked her while she was holding her then-17-month-old daughter.
