The Las Vegas Municipal Airport received the top award from the New Mexico Airport Managers Association last week at the state aviation conference in Ruidoso.
The local airport was chosen as Airport of the Year. The recipient of the award is chosen from among the state’s 64 airports, including Albuquerque’s Double Eagle.
City Manager Timothy Dodge said the award was due largely to the improvements done at the airport over the last few years and the service provided by airport employees.
