Improvement continues for Robertson High’s girls’ basketball team, which scored one of its better victories of the season Tuesday evening at former district foe St. Michael’s.

The Lady Cardinals (4-6) won 45-37 behind another inspired defensive effort from the whole lineup — and another big game from Jamie Allen and Kassandra Tapia.

Tapia was a rebounding menace, grabbing a game-high 18 boards to go with 10 points and eight steals.

Allen swished nine of 12 free throws and scored a team-best 15 points.

“We had an outstanding defensive effort in the second half,” said RHS head coach Aunna Bradley.

“Miranda Garcia did an amazing job on (St. Mike’s standout) Alexa Chavez. She held her to one field goal in the second half.”

“The entire team is improving defensively.”

Notably, the varsity win completed a three-game sweep of the Lady Horsemen. Robertson’s JV won 45-26 and the frosh 45-29.

The team continues its extended road swing Saturday at Lovington.
