La Plaza majors baseball final set for Friday night

A 14-3 Yankees victory in Thursday night’s semifinal of the La Plaza Little League Majors Division baseball tournament set up a dream matchup Friday night between the Yanks and the undefeated Cubs.

First pitch of the championship game is set for 6:30 p.m. at Rodriguez Park.

The Cubs are 14-0-1 heading into the game. The lone blemish? A tie, declared due to time limits, with the Yankees one week ago. The Yanks are 11-3-1 and defeated the Angels (6-8) in five innings on Thursday.
