Kemp begins rehab stint with Isotopes

Tagged with their second straight loss Friday — after seven consecutive wins — the Albuquerque Isotopes nonetheless are feeling all right.
Albuquerque, which fell 7-6 in the series finale at Omaha, has the services of Matt Kemp in time for its home series vs. Memphis.
Kemp is in the Duke City as part of a rehab assignment. The Dodgers’ two-time Gold Glove winner, All-Star and Silver Slugger is battling back from a strained hamstring. He’s hitting .251 in the majors this season, with two home runs and 17 runs batted in over 51 games.
Popular with fans, Kemp played four games with the ‘Topes last year, hitting .500.

A pair of one-run losses in a Thursday doubleheader against Trinidad vaulted the Triggers past the Las Vegas Train Robbers atop the Pecos League’s North Division.
Trinidad won 6-5 and 5-4 in games that featured solid defense and pitching by both clubs. The Triggers improved to 22-13, while the Robbers ended the series 20-15, two games out of first.
Las Vegas was to engage Raton in a home-and-home series through Sunday.
The red-hot Roswell Invaders continue to set the pace for the Pecos League at 30-8.
