Jake Martinez pins down top wrestling honors

Perhaps it was a fitting end to his fourth state championship run (this past February) that Jake Martinez had to compete with one bad arm — and still emerge victorious.

That’s how the Robertson senior seemed to dominate his opposition in much of his career as a Cardinal wrestler.

Martinez recently was honored with a trio of accolades that cement his status as one of New Mexico’s premier grapplers regardless of classification.
