The all-star break couldn’t come at a better time for the Albuquerque Isotopes.
The Isotopes (56-42) are coming off the longest game in franchise history, a five-hour, 31-minute war of attrition Sunday night in Des Moines, Iowa. The ‘Topes went 18 innings to record a 5-1 win over the Iowa Cubs. They used 21 players, including 10 pitchers.
Albuquerque returns to Isotopes Park on Thursday to begin a homestand vs. Omaha. The four-night series will feature a host of promotions — giveaways of rally towels (Thursday), youth replica jerseys (Friday), baseball caps (Sunday), and a Dukes retro night and Albuquerque Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony complete with postgame fireworks presented by New Mexico Highlands University (Saturday). Game time is 7:05 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 6:05 p.m. Sunday. Gates open at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday.
