Vote for Pedro.
Pedro Baez bent but didn’t break in the top of the ninth inning, allowing one run on two hits but ultimately hanging on for a huge save as the Albuquerque Isotopes nipped Fresno 8-7 on Wednesday night at Isotopes Park.
It was Baez’s sixth save of the summer and held up a win for fellow reliever Matt Magill (7-5).
Albuquerque took control in the bottom of the fourth, flipping a 6-3 deficit into an 8-6 lead.
Brock Peterson notched three RBI with a two-out double in the inning.
Chone Figgins, batting leadoff and playing second for the Topes, went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. Right fielder Mike Baxter was 2 for 4.
Joc Pederson smacked his 20th home run of the season in the third, a solo shot to pull Albuquerque within 5-3.
The Topes improved to 49-56; the Grizzlies dropped to 51-54.
