Husband charged in shooting

A 23-year-old Las Vegas man was arrested Sunday night after he shot his wife in the face, Las Vegas Police Chief Christian Montaño said.

The shooting occurred on the 2300 block of Calle Contenta, on the city’s north side, at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Montaño said Michael Urioste shot his wife, Christina Urioste, in the face with a handgun. He told authorities the shooting was an accident.
