JACKSON, Tenn.  — There’s something special about the stew sold each year by the Three Way Community Club in Jackson.

According to The Jackson Sun, cars lined the driveway and parking lot of the club’s building on Monday as people dropped by to purchase some of the famous stew that’s sold every Labor Day.

The exact recipe of the stew is not known. But club members arrive behind the clubhouse around 5 a.m. each Labor Day to start cooking it and are equipped with large cauldrons and boat paddles to stir the helpings to be served.

Lottie Sanders, 91, has attended the stew event for years.

“I don’t even like stew that much,” she said. “But I like to come visit with everyone.”
