Architects for the new student center at Highlands University have unveiled preliminary sketches of the three-story, 64,000-square-foot complex.
The massive center at Eighth Street and National Avenue will house a 250-seat theater, a 400-seat ballroom and a cafeteria for 300, the architects said.
Studio Southwest Architects said the theater-quality seats will be retractable, so the venue can be used for other events. Also, the large ballroom and cafeteria can be partitioned by sound-proof walls for a variety of events taking place at the same time.
