Losing a ball game can be for a number of reasons,  but when your squad HACKS a near-50 total fouls in one game against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) best foul-shooting team, Univ. of Nebraska/Kearney Lopers (UNK), what do you expect? As late HU roundball coach Dr. John Donnelly would say to his athletes, "TURN ON YOUR BRAIN!  STOP HACKING!"

The Lopers converted 33 of 49 HU fouls (67.3%) for a 82-68 win last evening in Kearney.

As the on-air announcer said, "This is the UGLIEST game  we've ever seen." And rightfully so. Didn't Coach Joe Harge KNOW beforehand that UNK was  the leading foul-shooting squad  in the RMAC? Then why hack so many times when you know that these are conversions without the clock running?

What really hurt the HU squad was Billy Austin hyper-extending his knee with 13:30 left to play in the game. Later on, Marcus Witt injured his ankle, so don't be surprised they will be on the injury list.

Highlands got close, 65-60 with 6:39 to play, but the Lopers widened their lead to more than 14 points.

Unfortunately, this squad is becoming more well known to be  "The Leading Hacker Squad In The RMAC." You can't win ball games giving away free throws and fouling out your key players.
