Highlands University officials are bracing for possible budget cuts because of an expected shortfall in revenue at the state level.
President James Fries told the Board of Regents recently that a decline in state revenue will continue to be an issue for everyone in state government — including institutions of higher education.
“It’s clear that the state’s revenues are not going to be as high as the projections that were used to create the current budget,” he said.
