Highlands’ Samano in national meet

Ismael Samano’s teammates may be taking some much-needed rest and relaxation after a grueling summer and fall of distance running.

Samano himself has one race left before he can put his cleats away for the season.

The New Mexico Highlands University standout qualified for this weekend’s NCAA Division II national cross country championships by finishing 18th in the South Central Regional meet on Nov. 3 in Denver.

The national meet is scheduled for Saturday morning in Joplin, Mo.
