Susan Gaedig, a ranger at Fort Union National Monument teamed up with Superintendent Charles Strickfaden (not shown) Saturday to distribute literature of the monument. And they busied themselves creating things for children, such as cornhusk dolls, paper-plate clocks and whirley-gigs.
Aubrey Skinner, of nearby Dead Horse Ranch, tries her luck by tossing a bean bag through an opening, during Saturday’s Heritage Week activities at Plaza Park. Observing the 10-year-old Aubrey is volunteer Luanna Zuch. The bean bag toss was one of a number of attractions, including dispensing information on savings for college and a drug-prevention program.
