Last week, the mayor said he wanted children to trick or treat on Saturday.
But we received a press release from the city Tuesday morning that stated, "The City of Las Vegas would like to clear up any confusion regarding this year’s Halloween celebration." It went on to say that the recommended time for trick-or-treating was Sunday, which is actually Halloween.
Say what?
Although the press release didn't say it, the city was attempting to clear up confusion it had itself created.
The spin confused things for us, so we called the mayor. He said he had wanted trick-or-treating on Saturday but that the city had received much criticism over that decision.
So the city changed its mind. And it's allowed to do that. But it should have said so in the press release.
