Grogan the energy behind changes

In response to the Nov. 8 letter concerning Alta Vista Regional Hospital CEO Richard Grogan, who was there from January 2008 until September 2010, Mr. Grogan was the energy behind the observed changes that have taken place at the hospital over the past year or so.

He set policies and staffing which have enhanced the quality of services provided. The improvement (the letter writer) noted has occurred for the organization as a whole but it took only one bad experience with one or two persons for her to generalize that all staff were uncaring, which was never true.
