The HU Singers will present the musical "Grease" on Friday and Saturday February 28, March 1, 2014, in Ilfeld Auditorium on the HU campus at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5; students with valid ID are FREE
Grease is a 1971 musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. The musical is named for the 1950s United States working-class youth subculture known as greasers. The musical, set in 1959 at fictional Rydell High School. It follows ten working-class teenagers as they navigate the complexities of love. The score attempts to recreate the sounds of early rock and roll.
The film version of Grease (1978) was directed by Randal Kleiser and produced by Paramount Pictures. The film stars John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing, and Jeff Conaway. It was successful both critically and at the box office; its soundtrack album ended 1978 as the second-best selling album of the year in the United States,
