Robertson’s girls’ golf team qualified its second leg (of three) for the 2010 state tournament by winning the Sandia Prep Invite this past week in Albuquerque.
The Lady Cardinals had a 395 team score, led by Jamie Allen (who shot a 91) and Jayme Quintana (95) to place third and fourth, respectively. Allen and Quintana also qualified their second leg individually.
“At this tournament I had only for players attend,” noted RHS coach Gene Gurule. “Nina (Martinez) and Karlee (Bradley) did extremely well picking up the slack because Shannon Lopez, our No. 3 golfer was unable to attend.”
Gurule invites RHS students interested in joining the team to contact him at Memorial Middle School or visit practice (3:30-5:30 p.m. weekdays at the NMHU Gene Torres Golf Course).
