Garcia eyeing race for state Senate

Former San Miguel County Commission Chairman LeRoy Garcia said Wednesday that he won’t run for mayor next year, but he is now considering entering the race for state Senate.

Garcia, who announced earlier that he was eyeing a run for mayor, said he decided against doing so because he wasn’t able to sell his home in the county. He said his plan remains to sell his house and then move into one of his houses that he owns in the city, but he said he couldn’t do that in time for the March mayoral election.
