Gallinas Dry?

Although the USGS measurements of flow in the Gallinas at Montezuma hover at about 1.5 cubic feet per minute, there seem to be lots of dry stretches in the river through town and south of town.

Maybe 1.5 cubic feet per minute is just enough to fill up some of the puddles during the cool of the night, but evaporates to nothing during the day between puddles.
