With the past weekend’s Cardinal Invitational largely about jockeying for position in terms of state seeding, the Robertson boys’ team achieved its mission.

The Cardinals defeated Sandia Prep 5-4 in the boys’ finals Saturday afternoon after earning wins over two other state contenders, Lovington and St. Michael’s.

RHS coach Juan Carlos Fulgenzi said he was pleased overall with the outcome and its likely impact on his team’s path through the postseason later this spring.
