Theresa Mora of Las Vegas was among the first to take advantage of free flu shots being offered by the staff of the San Miguel Public Health Office Thursday. Linda Ortega (shown), said the office is urging members of the public to get their vaccinations, inasmuch as the current flu season has been deemed one of most severe in decades. At Thursday’s clinic 20 adults and seven children received shots. Kenny C. Vigil, of the Department of Health, said that walk-ins are welcome at the health office, on Gallegos Road, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Other employees assisting in providing flu shots are Dominique Martinez and Monique Gerdes, nurse manager.
