Fiesta fate

Tonight, the City Council decides on the fate of the Las Vegas Fiesta Council, a group mired in controversies.

The Fiesta folks stopped talking with the newspaper months ago, unhappy that criticism of their group made its way into the Optic.

Yet these are the same people who have had no problem repeatedly bashing the Fiestas de Las Vegas' last queen, a 22-year-old woman. They haven't even given her a chance to speak in her defense at their meetings.

Now, it's the City Council's turn to weigh in. What'll it be?
