Representatives from FEMA and the state Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management were in Las Vegas Friday meeting with local government officials and other public entities and non-profit organizations that suffered damage from the Sept. 13 floods.
San Miguel and Mora Counties are among 15 New Mexico counties included in a federal disaster declaration signed by President Barack Obama on Oct. 29. The declaration frees up federal funding to help pay for flooding and storm damage that occurred Sept. 9-22.
