A San Miguel County man previously convicted of first-degree murder in Taos has been indicted on a firearms charge as part of a federal initiative that targets “the worst of the worst” offenders, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
The federal indictment filed in July charges Earl Thomas Romo, 27, of Las Vegas, with unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition in San Miguel County on Aug. 19, 2013. Romo made his first appearance in federal court Wednesday morning.
