After a good start in 2011, availability of effluent water for the residents of Las Vegas seems to be running late this year. Rumor has it that the City has not yet received a permit from the State to sell effluent water to the public this year. The City showed great creativity and initiative last year in seeking and obtaining permission to provide effluent water to residents for watering their plants. That permission came a bit late in the spring watering season, with the first water going out on the Tuesday after Memorial Day. With the system in place, this year's availability could have come April 1, in time for early spring flowers, but it did not. Fortunately, effluent water is available through delivery businesses in time for the second half of the spring flower season.
