The Las Vegas-San Miguel Economic Development Corporation would be teetering on dissolution were it not for a handful of people determined to keep it afloat. They’ve got their work cut out for them.
Last week, Matt Martinez, chairman of the EDC, and Lavinia Fenzi, interim executive director, attended a San Miguel County Commission meeting to ask for $10,000 for the agency. What they got was $5,000 and some pointed remarks about the effectiveness of its work.
