Sheryl McNellis-Martinez’s tenure as superintendent of Las Vegas City Schools has come to an abrupt, but expected closure.
During a meeting Thursday evening, the board unanimously approved putting her on paid administrative leave for the remainder of her contract, which expires at the end of this school year.
The board by a near unanimous vote also switched the title for Lydia Flores, who has been serving as acting superintendent since last month, to interim superintendent.
