East board gets new president

Gloria Lovato Pacheco was unanimously elected Thursday as the president of the Las Vegas City Schools Board.

Thursday’s meeting was the first one with the newly constituted board after last month’s election. Returning board members welcomed Luis Ortiz to the board.

Board member Felix Alderete had previously served as board president for nearly two years and opted to step down from the leadership post.
