Doyle, Warriors overpower young RHS hoopsters

Hamilton Doyle may have a bittersweet recollection of the Meadow City, given his history in town, but after his return Thursday night, he had reason to smile.

Doyle, now the head coach at Socorro, guided his Warriors to a 54-34 decision over Robertson at Mike Marr Gymnasium.

It wasn’t the prettiest win, rife with turnovers and subpar shooting for both squads.

Standout 6-5 post Baski Baker was a steadying presence for Socorro early on, giving the Warriors an edge after the young Cardinals threatened to make things interesting.
