Dons bounce back by beating Taos

TAOS — Adrian Rivera is off to a roaring start this basketball season.

The West Las Vegas post scored 31 points in a monster effort against host Taos on Thursday night in the opening game of the Tigers’ own tournament. The Dons (1-1) prevailed 63-55 and will play Goddard at 7:45 p.m. Friday in the tourney semifinals.

Tomas Benavidez added 12 points and Fabian Varela cleaned the glass for 13 rebounds to help West down the stretch.
