Don’t denigrate your constituents

I am writing in response to several of the San Miguel County commissioners’ comments in regard to the low-fly proposal as reported in the Optic on Nov. 12.  The fact the commission chose to vote in favor of the proposal is fine.  

That decision is supported by many county residents. However, it was not necessary in so many words to question the patriotism of those who disagree with you. Patriotism takes many forms. Nor is it necessary to mock those who offer opposing arguments.
