Brittany Potter and Erica Wieck both homered and combined for five runs batted in as New Mexico Highlands’ softball team upset NCAA Division II’s No. 5 ranked West Texas A&M 12-4 on Sunday in Canyon, Texas.
The win gave the Cowgirls a split of Sunday’s doubleheader and boosted their record to 5-5, all the games to date having been played on the road.
NMHU will open its home schedule this coming weekend with a four-game series against Colorado School of Mines, beginning Saturday at Cowgirl Field.
