Things are looking up for the New Mexico Highlands women’s basketball team, which is coming off a major preseason upset of NCAA Division I Northern Arizona.
The Cowgirls surprised the Lumberjills with a 66-62 victory on Friday, Nov. 6, in Flagstaff, Ariz.
Sheena Cole, new to the lineup, led the Cowgirls with 17 points and four rebounds. Robertson High alumnus Jessica Armijo scored 13 points, including three 3-pointers, and snagged four rebounds and two steals. And Briana Gholston chipped in 9 points, nine boards and six steals.
