Three individual event titles and some nationals-qualifying performances highlighted New Mexico Highlands’ march to third place over the weekend at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in Alamosa.

Shanice McPherson’s long jump of 19-9 1/2 (6.03 meters) was not only good enough to win; it also automatically qualified her for the NCAA meet.

Salcia Slack and Destiny Dillworth finished one-two in the indoor pentathlon with 3,825 and 3,589 points, respectively.

Slack makes the nationals cut and Dillworth does so provisionally.

Slack won four of the five individual pentathlon events — the 60-meter hurdles, the high jump, the long jump and the shot put. Dillworth was second.

Sheneika Rochester and McPherson earned provisional qualifying times in the 60-meter dash with a 7.62 and 7.66.

Stefania Gyamfi did the same in the 200 with a 25.26.

Slack was a provisional qualifier in the shot put with a throw of 43-8 1/2.

CiCi Cordova won the pole vault with a height of 10-11 3/4.
