New Mexico Highlands’ women’s distance runners had a strong presence in the Don Kirby Open indoor meet held this past Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
The Cowgirls made up half the field in the women’s 3,000-meter run, for example, and Ivana Aragon’s fourth place finish was just 21 seconds shy of winner Nancy Holguin of the host UNM Lobos.
Up next for NMHU and head coach Bob DeVries is the Joe Davies Open on Saturday in Golden, Colo.
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference indoor championships are Feb. 22-23 in Spearfish, S.D.
