County still works on wind farm rules

-A A +A
By David Giuliani

San Miguel County continues to work on updating its ordinance regulating wind farms, and officials promise that the public will be fully involved in that process.

Last week, County Manager Les Montoya asked the County Commission about the next step the county should take with its efforts. The commissioners generally agreed that the county should continue to have a task force continue working on the ordinance.

No applications are pending for wind turbines, but Chicago-based Invenergy LLC has expressed an interest in building a wind farm in the Bernal area.
