Las Vegas water customers will begin paying more for water after the city’s governing body voted Friday to institute a series of rate hikes over the next four years.
City Utilities Director Ken Garcia said water customers will see the initial increase reflected in their bills beginning on Dec. 1.
Friday’s vote caps months of public meetings on the water rates. Councilors Tonita Gurule-Giron and David Romero voted against the measure, prompting Mayor Alfonso Ortiz to cast the tie-breaking vote in favor of the increases.
