Military veterans, past and present, will soon rededicate and consecrate sacred ground memorializing their service and sacrifice at an improved Veterans Memorial Park.
Mayor Henry Sanchez said the Las Vegas received $100,000 to begin work at the current park at Fourth Street and Mills Avenue, where the American flag flies above a historic artillery battery.
The Memorial Park Committee met Wednesday with architect Roger Lengyel of Lengyel and Associates as participants continue work on the project.
