Luna Community College has picked a company to improve one of the city’s ball fields at Rodriguez Park, where the school’s softball team is expected to play next year.
The Board of Trustees last week unanimously voted for the low bidder, Las Vegas’ Franken Construction, which came in at $81,000. The other bidder, Bosque Farms-based Lone Mountain Construction, submitted a $93,000 bid.
Under an April agreement with the city, Luna is required to provide topsoil for the field, expand dugouts and make other improvements.
