The city of Las Vegas is asking that people clear their sidewalks after snowstorms.
A city ordinance makes it unlawful for tenants or owners of properties to allow any snow or ice to remain on a sidewalk next to a property for longer than 24 hours after snow has fallen or ice has formed.
City code enforcement officers said they plan to focus on commercial districts and areas near schools. They start by issuing warnings; subsequent violations may result in tickets.
