Defending Class 2A state champion Santa Rosa played an effective game of keep-away on Friday night, controlling the ball and time of possession in a 48-7 romp over visiting Robertson.
The Lions, who again appear to be the team to beat in 2A, relied on much of the same successful formula that has produced wins and titles for a number of years.
The Cardinals scored early and the contest was knotted up at 7-7 in the first quarter, but that didn’t last long.
